The idea of the whole procedure is to remove the PAIR valve solenoid, plug the two vacuum pipes on the throttle bodies with the provided vacuum pipe caps, plug the airbox port of the PAIR system with the airbox rubber cap and install the provided block off plates to the engine valve covers.
This kit will let you remove the PAIR system from your motorcycle completely.
Please read the steps carefully before starting the installation and note that the ignition must be turned OFF during the whole procedure
STEP 1: Remove the fuel tank. Locate the PAIR valve (1) at the front bottom left of the airbox and the PAIR system hoses (7), (8), (9) and (10) connected on the cylinder heads and airbox.
STEP 2: Unplug the PAIR hoses (7) and (9) from the PAIR plates on the cylinder heads.
STEP 3: Disconnect the PAIR valve vacuum pipes from the throttle bodies vacuum ports (2) and (3) and use the provided throttle bodies vacuum port caps to cover them.
STEP 4: Disconnect the pipe that goes from the PAIR valve (1) to the airbox port (8) and use the provided rubber cap on the port securing it by using the retainer piece from the PAIR hose (4).
STEP 5: Remove the parts (1), (7), (8), (9), (10) and (11) from the motorcycle.
STEP 6: Locate the two PAIR valve plates on the cylinder heads (6). Unscrew the two bolts of each plate, remove the external PAIR plates (6) but leave the internal plates (5) in place.
STEP 7: Put each block off plate from the kit against the engine valve cover and align the block off plate holes with the engine valve cover holes. Use the provided stainless steel bolts and washers to install the plates and tighten each bolt to 10nm of torque.
You have bypassed the PAIR system!
That’s it, now you can put everything in place and start the engine.
